An Inspiration for Today...A Resource for a Lifetime! |
"impeccable!"
A wise man will hear and increase in learning."
-Proverbs 1:5
I'm so excited I can barely write!!!
Doing wisdom is like sport.
-pastor Brad paraphrase, Proverbs 10:23
-pastor Brad paraphrase, Proverbs 10:23
The Bible tells us that words are extremely powerful. They carry with them the literal ability to bless, or curse (see James 3:1-10). The bible further admonishes us to use them only to bless. "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification" (Ephesians 4:29).
Clearly, this verse, along with many others, indicate that we are to use the EXTREME POWER of words to "build" one another (edification literally means, "build up").
Anyway, I was doing a little, "increasing in learning" recently and I came across the Latin word, "pecatus," which means, "sin." Further study taught me that the Latin prefix "im" in the term, "impeccable" means, "without." So, our English word, "impeccable" literally means, "without sin." Isn't that neat?!
So, my blessing and challenge for today is as follows:
May your words ever-increasingly be...
IMPECCABLE!
