One of Us is Deceived!

GodThoughtsWired!                  Thursday, July 5, 2012
Evangelizing the Church in the Age of Delusion

ONE OF US IS DECEIVED!
"For false Christs and false prophets
will arise and will show great signs
and wonders, so as to mislead,
if possible, even the elect."
-Matthew 24:24, bold mine
Are you among the "many" who are being misled in this age of delusion?  If your answer is no, how do you know for sure?  Can you know for sure?
THOSE WHO ARE DECEIVED
DON'T KNOW THEY ARE...
BECAUSE THEY ARE!
Widespread religious delusion is the hallmark of the beginning of the end:
"See to it that no one misleads you.
For many will come in My name,
saying, ‘I am the Christ,’
and will mislead many."-Matthew 24:4-5
In the above verses Jesus warns us that we are responsible to guard ourselves against religious deception.
In reference to my recently released GodThoughtsLive! video, Fairy-Tale Christianity 6, Jesus & Satan, Together at Last! (click here to watch), pastor Jason of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada writes,
"Pastor Brad, is it not you who are deceived?
Likening Islam to Satan?  Really?
Is it not our own Bible that declares,
'How good and pleasant it is for
brothers to dwell in unity?"' And is it
not our own Lord Jesus who himself
said, 'I in them and You in Me that
they may be perfected in unity...'"
Well pastor Jason, one thing IS for certain...
One of us IS deceived.
Let's discuss in depth tomorrow.

From Glory to Profound Obscurity...We're on Our Way!

From Glory to Profound Obscurity...

We're on Our Way!
The revered Nineeenth Century American statesman Daniel Webster said the following at the bicentennial celebration of the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock, December 22, 1820:
"If we and our posterity shall be true
to the Christian religion, if we and they
shall live in the fear of God and shall
respect His commandments...we may
have the highest hopes of the future
fortunes of our country;...But if we and
our posterity neglect religious instruction
and authority, violate the rules of eternal
justice, trifle with the injunctions of
morality, and recklessly destroy the political
constitution which holds us together, no
man can tell us how sudden a catastrophe
may overwhelm us that shall bury all our
glory in profound obscurity."*
(bold mine)
Happy 4th of July everyone.

How to Become an EXPERT at...DEFENDING THE FAITH! 3

GodThoughtsWired!                Friday, June 29, 2012
Evangelizing the Church in the Age of Delusion

HOW TO BECOME AN EXPERT AT...

DEFENDING THE FAITH!

3
"Always being ready to make a defense
to everyone who asks you to give|
an account for the hope that is in you..."-1 Peter 3:15
And finally, what about the statement,
"Jesus is the way for me."
Again, this is nonsensical.  Please listen carefully,
All truth, by definition is
absolute, extremely narrow,
and utterly exclusive!
If something is true, then
it is true for everybody,
everywhere, all the time.
For example, 2 + 2 = 4.  This is either true or false.  If it is true, which it is, then there is no other correct answer to 2 + 2 (2 + 2 cannot = 5, nor can 3 + 3 = 4).  And there has never been a person anywhere, at any time, to which this does not apply.
Jesus said that He is the only way to salvation (see John 14:6).  Either He is, or He is not.  If He is not, then He is not the way of salvation for anybody.  However, if He is, then He is the only way of salvation for everone.
"There is salvation in no one else,
For no other name under Heaven
has been given among men by which
we must be saved."
-Acts 4:12
The above "truth claim" is either true or false.  And like all truth, if it is true then it is true for everybody, everywhere, all the time.

How to Become an EXPERT at...DEFENDING THE FAITH! 2

GodThoughtsWired!              Thursday, June 28, 2012
Evangelizing the Church in the Age of Delusion

how to become an expert at...

defending the faith!

2
"Always being ready to make a defense
to everyone who asks you to give
an account for the hope that is in you..."-1 Peter 3:15
Statements such as:
"There is no such thing as absolute truth."
"You can't know anything for sure."
"You shouldn't judge."
may sound legitmate on the surface but in reality are nonsensical and ridiculous!  They are "self-defeating."
Consider the first claim, "There is no such thing as absolute truth."  For that statement to be true, it would have to be false!  In other words, the statement itself is declaring an absolute truth, while at the same time claiming that there is no such thing as absolute truth...DO YOU SEE IT?!
Likewise, the person who says, "You can't know anything for sure," is at the same time saying that his own statement is completely unreliable!  In other words, If you can't know anything for sure then even the claim itself is uncertain...DO YOU GET IT?!
Finally, the phrase, "You shouldn't judge," is itself a judgement!  When someone says, "You shouldn't judge," they are doing the very thing that they are telling others not to do...COMPRENDE?!
Indeed, the individual who would learn to identify and expose the myriad of "self-defeating" arguements so prominent in today's "Age of Delusion," would quickly find himself to be...
An expert at defending the faith!
Conclusion tomorrow.

How to Become an EXPERT at...DEFENDING THE FAITH! 1

Evangelizing the Church in the Age of Delusion

how to become an expert at...

defending the faith!

1
"Always being ready to make a defense
to everyone who asks you to give
an account for the hope that is in you..."-1 Peter 3:15
We live in what the Bible calls the "Age of Delusion:" (see 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12).  A key characteristic of this age is the rejection of truth (see above verses).
Consider the following statements:
"There is no such thing as absolute truth."
"You can't know anything for sure."
"You shouldn't judge."
Have you ever heard (or said?) these statements, or comments like them?  How about this one:
"Jesus is the only way for me."
These kinds of imbecilic statements epitomize the ignorant delusion that much of the world has now embraced.
And I'll explain precisely why tomorrow.

Fairy-Tale Christianity 5

GodThoughtsWired!                Monday, June 25, 2012
Evangelizing the Church in the Age of Delusion

WARNING:  The Fairy-Tale Christianity video series is a wildly sarcastic, parody, of the false teachers and preachers flourishing  in America's "counterfeit church."

"One of the great things about
21st century American Christianity,
is the fact that you can now find a
'bible translation' that will validate
just about any way you choose to live!"
-Church Guy, Fairy-Tale Christianity  5

"How can you know whether a
particular bible translation is good
or not?  If it's a good one, it will
say so right on the cover!"
-Church Guy, Fairy-Tale Christianity  5
