This is a truly heartbreaking statement in light of the many wonderful things that Warren has said and done in the past (please see the GTWired! series entitled, "The Purpose Driven Life:  The Bright Side/Dark Side, December 18, 2006-January 9, 2007).  This recent statement, however, is DEAD WRONG!  Religions are NOT just "a different way to get to God."  Islam follows a DIFFERENT GOD!  Mormonism follows a DIFFERENT GOD!  Hinduism follows MANY DIFFERENT GODS! etc.

First of all,

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD!

"I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no Savior besides Me...

There is no God besides Me...

Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me...

I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God...

There is no one besides Me, I am the Lord and there is no other..."

Isaiah 43:11; 44:6; 43:10b; 45:5; 45:6

Secondly,

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO GET TO THIS ONE GOD! 

Jesus said,

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life,

no one comes to the Father but through Me."

John 14:6

And the Bible declares,

"There is salvation in on one else, for there is no other name under heaven

that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

Acts 4:12

There are not "different ways to get to God." 

There is only One.
