"We are just a fleeting vapor that appears

for awhile and then vanishes away."

James 4:15

Take a deep breath.  Seriously, please take a DEEP breath.  Thank you.  Now ask yourself, "How much do I want to have invested in that breath?"  Jesus said, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  Instead, lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven..." (Matthew 6:19-21).  So, what does that have to do with taking a deep breath?

"Surely, every man is a mere breath."

Psalm 39:11

The Bible teaches us that in light of eternity, our lives here on earth can be likened to a breath, a mere breath.  When you took that deep breath that I asked you to take, that represented the length of your stay here on earth, compared to eternity.  So, the next time your deciding whether to invest in eternal or temporal things...

Remember the breath.
