"The Bible"
PART 5

The fifth of the nine essential components that give us a complete definition of the Bible is:

5.  Supernatural (living and active).

"The word of God is living and active...
Blessed is he who reads...hears...heeds.
the things which are written in it."
Hebrews 4:12b; Revelation 1:3

Unlike any other book in the world, the Bible is supernatural.  It was written by a supernatural God through supernatural means and maintained throughout history supernaturally.  The words of God are "living and active" (see Hebrews 4:12). They carry with them the power to transform lives.  "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds..." (see Romans 12:2).  The word of God has the capacity to transform and renew our minds.

Through the promises of God we become "partakers of the divine nature" (see 2 Peter 1:4a).  The practice of the word enables us to "escape the corruption that is in the world by lust" (see 2 Peter 1:4b).

"Faith comes from hearing,
and hearing by the word of Christ."
Romans 10:17

Do you see it?  The word of Christ has the power to birth and develop faith in our lives!  "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it..." (see Revelation 1:3).  Yes, the reading and practice of the word of God results in supernatural blessing.  And Joshua 1:8 informs us that perennial meditation on the scriptures, for the purpose of obedience to the word will result in prosperity and success.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105).
