GodThoughts Wired!
"Can You Handle...The Truth?"
"tamim:" Hebrew meaning, complete, without blemish, faultless, blameless.
The Bible is the word of God. "All scripture is inspired by God" (2 Timothy 3:16). It is, "tamim." The law of the Lord is perfect (tamim). It is the instruction manual of life. "Profitable for teaching, correction, training, reproof; that the man of God may be adequate equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:17). It is our rule book. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105).
Here's some fun logic:
Jesus is God. "But of the Son He (God) says, 'Thy throne O God, is forever and ever" (Hebrews 1:8). Jesus is Truth. "I am the...Truth..." (see John 14:6). He cannot lie. "It is impossible for God to lie" (Hebrews 6:18). The Bible is God's revelation to man. "All scripture is inspired by God" (2 Timothy 3:16). Therefore, the Bible is truth. "Thy word is truth" (John 17:17).
And in reverse:
God wrote the Bible. "All scripture is inspired by God" (2 Timothy 3:16). God is Truth. "God, who cannot lie...The Glory of Israel will not lie" (Titus 1:2; 1 Samuel 15:29). Therefore, the Bible is truth. "The precepts of the Lord are right...The commandment of the Lord is pure" (Psalm 19:8-9).
