  The Kingdom of God is Like...An Elevator

"My brethren, these things

ought not be this way."

James 3:10b

What things "ought not be this way?"  "From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing" (see James 3:10a).  Elevators in the kingdom of God are intended to take us in one direction only...UP! 

"Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth,

but only such a word as is good for edification."

Ephesians 4:29

True disciples of Jesus are builders.  Builders of people.  Their elevators only go one direction.  They add value.  They encourage.  They bless.  They build.

Question #1:  "According to Ephesians 4:29, how many unwholesome words are supposed to proceed from our mouths?"  That's right!  None.

Question #2:  "According to 1 Corinthians 14:26, how much of what we say and do and think, should be for the purpose of edification?"  That's right!  Everything.
