"The Bible"
PART 7

The seventh of the nine essential components that give us a complete definition of the Bible is:
7.  Immutable (without change).

"My covenant I will not violate (change),
nor will I alter the utterance of My lips."
Psalm 89:34

Translated:  UTTERLY RELIABLE!  "I, the Lord, do not change" (Malachi 3:6).  You can depend on the word of God.  Everything that God says is ROCK SOLID.  Why doesn't the word of God change?  Because it's perfect (see part 8).  Perfection has no need for change.  The Bible says,

"Do not add to His words lest He reprove you
and you be proved a liar."
Proverbs 30:6

This is what happened to Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism.*  He added to the Bible (see the Book of Mormon) and has been proven (radically so) a liar.  The Bible is perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  To add to perfection is to take away its "perfectness."  To take away from perfection makes it "less than perfect."  God is EXTREMELY serious about this:

"I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book:
if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written
in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city..."
Revelation 22:18-19; see also, Deuteronomy 12:32

God is the "Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow" (James 1:17).  His wisdom is "unwavering" (see James 3:17).  "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).

Game over.  Case closed.  Done deal.
