"Eternal Rewards"
Conclusion
In light of this, we are challenged to live precisely as Jesus did. He told us that He did nothing on His own initiative, but that He only did what He saw the Father doing. “I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 5:30; see also, John 5:19; 36; 6:38; 8:28, 42). Conclusion
Jesus proclaimed at the end of His earthly days,
“I glorified Thee on the earth, having accomplished the work
Which Thou hast given Me to do.”
John 17:4
And I would suggest that this be our goal as well. As with Jesus, our Heavenly Father has given us work to do (see Ephesians 2:10). These works are His will for our lives. Whatever the will of God is for our lives will remain. And whatever we accomplish of God’s will and purpose for our lives will be rewarded in Heaven. Which Thou hast given Me to do.”
John 17:4
“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence,
which has great reward. For you have need of endurance,
so that when you have done the will of God,
you may receive what was promised.”
Hebrews 10:35, 36 (bold mine)
