"Whatever He Does, He Prospers"
Part 2

"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the
counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners,
nor sit in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law
of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree firmly rooted by the stream, which
bears it's fruit in it's season and it's fruit does not wither,
and whatever he does he prospersThe wicked are not so..."
Psalms 1:1-4a
"whatever he does he prospers?"  This prosperity is not a direct reference to money although it may include it depending on the unique purpose and plan that God has for the individual.  What it DOES INCLUDE though are ALL of the elements involved in the "abundant life" and "prosperity of the soul" that God has made available to ALL who live in right relationship with Him.

What do I mean by, "right relationship with Him?"  Well, the above passage has already described it however, I also really like the way Joshua described it:  "You shall meditate on it (the word of God) day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success" (Joshua 1:8).

I REALLY like the way Joshua phrases this subject because he emphasizes the bottom line:  MEDITATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRACTICE!  "Prove yourselves doers of the word and not merely hearers who delude themselves" (James 1:22).
Faith without action...is delusion.
So, practically speaking, what does the Bible mean when it talks about the "prosperity of the soul?"*  We'll begin to break it down specifically on Monday.

*For those of you who cannot wait, I've written about this subject extensively in both books, GodThoughts, Volumes 1 & 2.
